Top Ten Tuesday | Books I wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under the Tree

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely people over at The Broke and the Bookish. This weeks theme is Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under the Tree.

The covers of each book will link back to its Goodreads.

24817626Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee

I have two copies of To Kill A Mockingbird, I love it so much. Historical Fiction is my favourite genre, and I seldom get the chance to read any. Scout is just a lovely character, and to be able to read about her whenever she is older would be amazing! I have a feeling she will be a bit like a mellowed out version of Aelin Galathynius, but I’m not sure. I’m super excited for this one.

Carry On

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I love all of Rainbow Rowell’s books, and this one is no exception. I love everything about this, especially the characters! This is one of my favourite books. I read this almost as soon as I could after it’s release, and would love to have my own copy of it!

8909152Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

What a surprise, another Rainbow Rowell book! I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of her on this list, because I just love her books that much. This is the only Rainbow Rowell book I have not read, but I want to very soon! I have heard tons of great reviews on it, and want to try it out myself!

4667024The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Another historical fiction novel! I watched this movie a while back and had no idea it was adapted from this novel! I want to read it and see if it is even better than the movie (which I loved). Also, who doesn’t love historical fiction? I’m really excited to read this and really want my own copy.

Six of CrowsSix of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I adore this book. What better way than to make the protagonists a group of criminal anti-heroes! While I was not completely sold on Leigh’s other series, this one I found to be lovely. I have never read a book about a heist, and this filled the empty void of criminal fiction I never read.

13522285The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider

I read this a while back and I really enjoyed it. I’m not quite sure what it was about this that made me love it. Maybe that it is written in a guys point of view, maybe that his love is turned upside down, or just maybe it is the authors writing.

18460392All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

I found this story to be beautiful. There are so many beautiful phrases and quotes within this, and the story itself is just wonderful. It is heartwarming and heartbreaking, humorous and sad, all in one. It is so close to perfection, I love it that much.

a court of thorns and rosesA Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

It is no secret that I love Sarah J. Maas and her writing, especially this series. It is also no secret that I love fairytale retellings, and this is one of my favourites. Although it doesn’t portray quite every aspect of the fairytale it retells, it is still a very enjoyable read.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

As I said earlier, I love fairytale retellings, and this series is probably my favourite. It does a wonderful job of blending fairytale and science fiction together in a perfect mix, and it is just a wonderful series altogether. If you haven’t read it, you need to.

The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

This is my favourite series of all time, and I don’t even have my own copies of them! I started this series when it first came out, and and have read everyone of them since, and I adore them. If you haven’t read this series, you need to, it is amazing. If you start Throne of Glass and think “Emily, what the heck, this is good, but it isn’t amazing”, it’s okay! It gets so much better, trust me. With each addition that comes out, the better and better the writing, plot, and characters get.

Have you read/are reading any of these? Let me know what you thought about them, and feel free to link your TTT so that I can see it!

  1. ToG series is one of my favourite series and so is The Lunar chronicles! I just ordered Cress yesterday and I can’t wait to get my hands on it and read a Rapunzel retelling! I’m so excited! I want Attachments and Carry on as well! I hope you get all those books on your list! 🙂

  2. Great list! The Help was a really good book. Hope you get a chance to read it. I’m afraid to read Go Set a Watchman. TKAM was such a great book, and one of my favorites, that I’m afraid GSAW won’t live up to my expectations. Merry Christmas!
