Mortal Heart by Robin LaFevers

Synopsis: Annith is part of a convent full of nuns that worship and serve the old gods, and this particular one worships Mortain, the god of death. These nuns serve St. Mortain by carrying out his will of vengeance, and killing men and women that bear the marque of death. Annith was raised in the convent and has watched her fellow sisters come and go to serve St. Mortain, and has been patiently awaiting her turn to serve Death. But when she figures out that she is being groomed to be the new Seeress, forever stuck in the convent to never leave and soon lose her vision, she decides to rebel against the convents wishes, and leaves on her own.

Review: Oh my goodness. Nun assassins? This was brilliant. I absolutely loved this novel. If you didn’t know, this is the third book in the His Fair Assassin trilogy, and is definitely my favorite. I loved Annith and her story! Stories of female assassins are always my favorite, but nun assassins made it even cooler. I loved the adventure and the romance. It was exciting and lovely, and one of my favorite trilogies.

I give this novel 5/5 stars and would highly recommend this novel to fans of historical/fantasy novels.
